Introduction

In order to complement the multidisciplinary content and provide a basis for working with other knowledge objects, as well as to promote a cultural immersion for the students in various environments, we have scheduled a pedagogical outing for your child’s class, which will take place in the following format:

GUARTELÁ CANYON, CAMPOS GERAIS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION

Date - Check Availability

Departure and arrival – at the school.

 Boarding – 7:15 AM & Disembarkation – 5:30 PM

Location – Campina Grande do Sul

CURRICULAR COMPONENTS

Science / Biology: Earth and Universe, natural dynamics, grassland, savanna and forest ecosystems, conservation and human impacts. 
Geography: relief (canyons, cliffs), rivers, basins, Campos Gerais, land use and protection.
History: occupation of the region (indigenous peoples, colonizers), rock paintings as archaeological remnants.
Environmental Education: Conservation Units, legislation, usage limits, responsible tourism. 
Portuguese Language / Art: reading signs, producing reports, travel chronicles, drawings and maps of the landscape.

THEMATIC FOCUSES OF THE ITINERARY

History: European immigration; formation of colonies; regional history of Campos Gerais; cooperativism.
Geography: Campos Gerais; land use; dairy agriculture; cultural tourism.
Sociology/Economics: cooperatives, associativism, collective work; regional development.
Art: typical architecture, built landscape, photography and observational drawing.
Portuguese Language: reading expository texts, panels, folders; producing reports, travel chronicles, interviews.
The specific skills will be detailed according to the year/grade attended, and may be attached to the project.
